141 Pioneer Home Dr, Thermopolis, WY 82443
The Wyoming Pioneer Home (WPH), owned and operated by the Wyoming Department of Health, is a licensed assisted living facility situated in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Established by state legislation in 1949, it forms part of the department's Aging Division. Located on 5 ½ acres in Hot Springs State Park, the facility offers 84,000 square feet of living space, including both single and double private rooms. The home promotes independent living as long as possible, providing a level of assistance higher than that of a retirement community but not as extensive as a nursing home. At the Wyoming Pioneer Home, the goal is to meet each resident’s needs in a home-like atmosphere while maintaining the highest levels of choice, dignity, respect, privacy, and individuality. The community offers a maintenance-free environment where residents can enjoy their lives without the hassles of cooking or cleaning. Residents are encouraged to socialize and participate in community events to enhance their lifestyle. The Wyoming Pioneer Home's facility was built in three stages, starting in 1949, with additions in 1953 and 1955. Recently, it underwent a complete remodel of resident rooms, dining, and activity rooms. The building offers private studio apartments, each equipped with a large bathroom and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. Common living rooms in each resident wing are furnished with couches, chairs, tables, and cable TVs. These spaces, along with multiple sunrooms, are designed for relaxation, reading, and entertaining visitors.
