Stewart Community Home is dedicated to providing compassionate and secure housing for adults with disabilities. The Home assists these individuals in transitioning from homelessness or challenging situations, thereby enabling them to achieve independence and maintain their dignity. This mission is driven by a commitment to their well-being and is aligned with religious values. The concept of the Stewart Community Home was inspired by Sarah Stewart's personal experiences, leading her to establish a safe haven for those ineligible for nursing home care yet unable to live independently. The Home has evolved through community support and has expanded its care services to include not only the elderly but also individuals with mental and physical disabilities. Founded with a focus on providing housing for those unable to find it elsewhere, Stewart Community Home accommodates residents who are either temporarily transitioning or require permanent residence. The residents include men and women over the age of 18 who must have a documented disability. All residents must adhere to basic conduct rules and undergo a TB test prior to admission. The community’s history is deeply rooted in compassion and service, transforming from a single boarding home into a notable nonprofit organization supported by substantial community donations and managed by a committed board of directors and staff, fortifying its long-term operational stability.
