The Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) provides a dedicated environment for the care of Virginia's veterans, honoring their service with top-tier care. Named after two Medal of Honor recipients, Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter, SBVCC proudly stands on the McGuire VA Medical Center campus in Richmond, Virginia. The center operates under the vigilance of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services ensuring veterans receive the gold standard in quality care. SBVCC offers comprehensive care through its 200 single-occupancy rooms spread across four nursing units. Each unit is designed with the comfort and care of veterans in mind. Two units feature 60-bed skilled nursing care, another has a 40-bed skilled nursing care capacity, and the fourth is a secure 40-bed Alzheimer’s/dementia unit with enclosed courtyards. The facility ensures veterans with varying health requirements, including those needing memory care, receive the attention they need.
