Legato Living at Old Town Scottsdale
8701 East Cheery Lynn Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251-5015
We are Ryan and Katie Heimbach, and we are thrilled to introduce ourselves as enthusiastic advocates for memory care in the Old Town community! We are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to connect with families who are seeking a warm and compassionate residential home for their loved ones living with dementia. Our journey is deeply rooted in personal and professional experiences, as both of us have had close family members affected by dementia. This personal connection fuels our fervor for assisting other families and residents as they navigate the challenges of this disease. Our mission revolves around making a meaningful impact on the lives of families and residents, fostering an environment where they feel not just cared for but also comfortable, content, and truly at home. At the core of Legato, we are dedicated to ensuring a seamless transition for our residents during this phase of their lives. We genuinely extend our care to encompass both the residents themselves and their families, treating them as if they were our own. Our aspiration is to create an atmosphere where everyone feels embraced and at ease as they embark on this stage of their journey. In addition to our personal experiences, we also draw from Ryan's professional background in medical staffing, which provides us with a unique perspective on the healthcare needs of our residents. This combination of personal empathy and professional insight equips us to provide the highest level of care and support to those entrusted to our home. We are committed to fostering a warm and loving environment where residents can thrive, families can find solace, and the Old Town community can benefit from our dedication to memory care.

Food and Dining
Legato Living has curated four distinct seasonal menus, each offering a selection of three nutritionally balanced meals, including options for morning, afternoon, and evening hydration and snacks. These menus are thoughtfully designed to incorporate ingredients that are in-season, prioritizing freshness and quality. Legato Living operates a Hydration and Snack program for its residents, which ensures they are provided with food and beverages at 10am, 2pm, and 7pm. Importantly, due to the home's accommodating environment, the kitchen is accessible at all times, allowing residents to enjoy a glass of milk, juice, fruit, or any other snack whenever they desire. If the food preferences of your loved ones have evolved over time, this flexibility is advantageous, as their favorite items can be added to the grocery list and kept readily available. When it comes to meal preparation, the utmost attention is given to maintaining the health and safety of the residents. Meals are carefully portioned to suit each resident's needs, and in some cases, the nightshift caregiver may prepare meals in advance to ensure they are ready at mealtimes. For instance, they might prepare a pot roast and vegetables in a crockpot to have it ready for the noon meal the following day. The facility also caters to modified diets for residents facing swallowing difficulties. In such cases, meals can be pureed, and liquids can be thickened as per the physician's recommendations. This ensures that residents with specific dietary needs receive the appropriate care and support.

Activities
Activities
On a monthly basis, we carefully curate an activity calendar aimed at enhancing the overall well-being of our residents. Our primary objectives include promoting physical activity, boosting sensory and mental stimulation, and nurturing self-esteem through activities that are free from the fear of failure. Our approach is rooted in recognizing and harnessing the existing skills and strengths of our residents. We believe that by focusing on their current abilities, we can create a positive and empowering environment. Our diverse range of activities reflects this philosophy, encompassing tasks such as folding laundry, singing cherished hymns, baking delicious treats, engaging in creative crafts, and even the simple yet rewarding act of feeding the birds and squirrels in our surroundings. In addition to fostering physical well-being, our activities are carefully designed to stimulate cognitive functioning. We incorporate reality orientation exercises, including discussions about the current date, weather updates, and recognizing the ongoing season. Music, word games, and reminiscing activities are integral parts of our program as well. Our reminiscing sessions often involve using memory kits, exploring through scrapbooks filled with cherished memories, and enjoying the pleasure of reading engaging stories. At our home we are committed to creating a vibrant and engaging environment that caters to the unique needs and preferences of each resident. Our activity calendar is a testament to our dedication to enhancing the quality of life for your loved one
