The Poarch Creek Indians, a federally recognized tribe located in Alabama, proudly call the state their home. Having emerged from a history where they were nearly forgotten, they have grown into a sovereign nation that not only preserves its rich heritage but also embarks on building successful stories for its Tribal Citizens as well as their neighbors. The Poarch Creek Indians are the descendants of the original Creek Nation that extended over nearly all of Alabama and Georgia. This community has withstood the test of time, continuing to reside in and around their reservation in Poarch, Alabama. The determination of the Poarch Creek Indians is evident as they strive to maintain their identity and uphold their right to self-govern while also preserving their culture and improving their community.
