It's possible that your elderly loved one is experiencing symptoms of dementia. Respite Care A typical respite care admission involves a resident who has been living with family but requires temporary care for a few weeks while their loved ones are traveling or unavailable. Hospice Care Their family, and their doctor may decide to transition to hospice care. This means the resident will typically no longer receive treatment from their physician or go to the hospital. Instead, care will be provided at home (Joy Senior Center) by the hospice medical team. COVID-19 Response and Preparedness Our team's vigilance and family support, we have successfully avoided a COVID-19 outbreak at Joy Senior Center. In terms of preparedness, all staff and residents are fully vaccinated and boosted, with vaccinations administered on-site. We keep a month’s supply of COVID-19 protective gear to mitigate supply chain issues. COVID-19 protocols are reviewed monthly in staff meetings to ensure everyone is informed. For visitations, we collaborate with State Licensing and Public Health to maintain safety. Regulations have evolved since the pandemic began, and we promptly communicate any changes to families via text and email. As of March 2022, we check temperatures and require visitors to present vaccination cards before entering. Unvaccinated visitors must wear an N95 mask, while all visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks indoors. Families can also schedule FaceTime calls with their loved ones to reduce travel and contagion risk.
