Helen's House® Long-Term Care Households offers a unique alternative to large nursing homes or assisted living facilities by providing 24-hour live-in care within a home-like setting. Located in Appleton, Wisconsin, this community prioritizes the dignity, hope, and meaning of its residents. Each household is designed for just four residents, which allows for a more personalized approach to care. The community is staffed by caregivers who are supported by a Director of Care and a Registered Nurse. The 1:4 caregiver-to-resident ratio ensures that each resident receives individualized attention and care tailored to their needs. The philosophy at Helen's House® revolves around creating a supportive, home-like environment where residents are valued as individuals rather than defined by their medical conditions. Helen's House® has five locations in and around the Appleton, Wisconsin area. Each location is a custom-built, energy-efficient 4-bedroom home designed to blend into the neighborhood. The homes feature wide doorways and hallways for easy access, private ADA-compliant bathrooms, and no-step entrances to accommodate residents with varying mobility needs. The homes provide two large interior living areas, a large front porch, and a patio area off the sunroom for outdoor enjoyment. Residents can enjoy home-cooked meals around a kitchen table, emphasizing the community's focus on a familial atmosphere. This setup facilitates meaningful relationships among the four seniors living there and ensures privacy and a sense of individuality for each resident.
