Central Children's Home of North Carolina

The Central Children’s Home of North Carolina is a residential child care facility located in Oxford, North Carolina, dedicated to providing family-centered services for children and youth aged 8–21. The facility has been operating for over 130 years since its founding in 1883 by the Colored Orphanage Association. The CCHNC provides a nurturing environment conducive to the emotional, educational, social, spiritual, and physical development of its residents. Its mission is to support positive family functioning and prepare children for successful independent living. Over the years, the facility has evolved from the Grant Colored Asylum to its current form and name. The Central Children's Home continues to offer a range of programs designed to address the needs of children who cannot remain in their homes due to dependency, neglect, or abuse.
